Emily + Kyle: A Michigan Backyard Wedding

Emily & Kyle were married on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in June! They had a Catholic ceremony followed by a Michigan backyard wedding reception. I know I’ve mentioned before on my blog how much I love backyard weddings. This one was no exception. It may have been almost 100 degrees outside, but these two were so excited to finally be getting married that they just rolled with it. Their day was beyond beautiful and so much fun. One special touch that Emily and Kyle included on their wedding day was that they wrote letters to each other to read and it was oh-so-sweet.

“a good michigan backyard wedding is one of my favorite things”

Writing letters to read on camera is a great way to add a special touch to your wedding video. I always try to pull some audio from your wedding ceremony, but if you’re having a basic ceremony then letters are a great way to go! 20, 30, 40 years from now when you’re showing your children and your grandchildren and even your great-grandchildren the day that it all began, those words that you wrote to each other to read on Day One will mean more than anything else ever could. It really just takes your wedding day film to another level of special for the two of you. So I highly recommend letters or any sort of special audio to all of my couples! Whatever you choose, if it means something and is special to you now, it’ll only become more special as the years go by.

Congratulations again, Emily & Kyle! And thank you so much for letting me be a part of your big day! May all your years together be as fun and full of love as your wedding day, hopefully not quite as hot though!
