Maria and Jeff’s southern Michigan wedding was one of my favorite September weddings this year. It’s been a year full of beautiful weddings, but this wedding, in particular, was so special for me. I’ve known Maria since we were in 7th grade, she was one of the first people to become friends with me when my family moved back to the US and I started at a new school. We bonded over our mutual love of books and being introverts. She’s always been on the quiet side until you get to know her. She’s also sweet and kind and has a smile that lights up the world around her when she laughs. So when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, I was over the moon. I was so honored to capture her and Jeff’s special day, and I’m so excited to share their wedding on the blog today!
“The willow thrives in good conditions or in harsh conditions and its roots dig deep into the soil so that it can endure for generations to come.”
I know I’ve talked about it before here on the blog, but I love outdoor weddings. Especially intimate, weddings that feature gorgeous willow trees as a backdrop for the ceremony. As soon as I got to Jeff and Maria’s southern Michigan wedding location, I was struck by that beautiful tree. My two favorite trees have always been birch trees and willow trees, and I think a willow tree is a perfect tree to be married under. The willow is known for its enduring qualities. It thrives even harsh conditions and its roots dig deep into the soil so that it can endure for generations to come. It’s a perfect metaphor for love.
Jeff and Maria, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your big day! May your love grow deep and endure like the willow tree and endure as a beacon for generations to come! Congratulations, Maria and Jeff!
