Carolyn + Kyle: Michigan State University Engagement Session

When Carolyn and Kyle decided that they wanted to do a Michigan State University engagement session, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I’d never been on the MSU campus before, but oh-my-goodness was I surprised! The campus is absolutely beautiful, and there are so many great spots for photos! Carolyn and Kyle are both huge MSU fans, so they decided that they wanted to start off their session a little more casual wearing jerseys. Honestly, because summer was in full swing and everything on campus was so green, they fit in perfectly! Summer in Michigan is always bursting with all sorts of lush greens!

“Their Michigan State University Engagement Session was absolutely perfect”

You know how sometimes you meet people, and you feel like you could have been friends forever? That’s how Carolyn and Kyle’s Michigan State University engagement session went. Most couples are nervous when they first get to their engagement session, it’s totally natural. Most of us aren’t used to being in front of a camera. So one of my goals at the beginning of a session is just to break the ice. To have fun and goof around a little, so that my couples realize that it isn’t scary at all. We can just have fun and get some amazing pictures along the way. I always count it as extra bonus points at the end if my groom says “That actually wasn’t bad.” or “I’m surprised, that was actually fun.”

With Carolyn and Kyle’s Michigan State University engagement session, we had so much fun! Two hours had flown by before we knew it, we talked about their wedding plans, different travel plans we were all making, how we all love history. But the fact that we felt like old friends wasn’t the only awesome thing about their engagement session. We got to meet Sparty! I’m not even an American football fan really, but he posed for a few pictures with the two of them and I thought that was just the coolest thing ever.

Take a look through some highlights from their Michigan State University engagement session below. I’m so excited and seriously can’t wait to shoot their wedding next June!
